Central Patient Admissions
The university medical center Knappschaftskrankenhaus Bochum is treating over 60,000 patients. Most of the patients usually enter the hospital via the admission office. At the central patient admissions desk, the staff gathers all of your personal information that is necessary for your medical treatment and financial processing of your hospital stay. This includes a medical referral by a primary physician as well as an insurance card. All of your information is subject to doctor-patient confidentiality and data protection laws. After being admitted patients are handed all necessary documents they need for treatment and are referred to their responsible ward. In case patients are not able to provide information themselves upon admission, a relative can do that for them later.
